Someone was driving a boat wth a Prius engine, 4 knots, 2 liters per hour of fuel burn...
So 3000 nautical miles at 4 knots would be 750 hours which would be 1500 liters or 400 gallons of gasoline.
That's about $1500 worth of gas, so I guess the panels basically just reached their payback period.
