@theorytoe I need to watch this because the title is such an incredible piece of click bait that I cannot earnestly believe that it is actually genuine, but its worth twelve minutes to find out.
@prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer @theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe please report back we need to know
@prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer @theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe and be careful not to get brainwashed
@waifu @theorytoe I can rightly be accused of a "trust the science" type but having been obese in the past I can say that any attempts to side step "fewer calories, more activity" as a paradigm is absolutely doomed. Barring wide scale genetic reengineering of the human genome to simply not attempt to store excess energy, and a drug is not going to do that.
@prettygood @theorytoe @waifu maybe we should just eat less, and less calorie dense crap
idk kill monsanto behead us foods etc etc

@pwm @theorytoe @waifu my unpopular take (unpopular with any group) is that eating meat is fine and normal *BUT* its not fine and normal to have "every meal is meat based", everyone can stand to eat more plants.
@prettygood @theorytoe @pwm @waifu I agree with this take, as a byproduct of my own take that every meal must be rice based.

@cine @theorytoe @waifu @prettygood I love rice and beans but if I do not eat at least three hamburgers a week I would commit a hate crime
@pwm @theorytoe @waifu @prettygood That's me, but with plantains. First thing we did when we got this land was plant plantains.
@cine @theorytoe @waifu @prettygood I can't get into plantains but I'm honestly not big on fruit. Fructose tastes funny to me as a product of being an american
@pwm @theorytoe @waifu @prettygood Every time we talk about food I expand my knowledge of how much of a picky eater you are.
@cine @theorytoe @waifu @prettygood I eat almost anything someone else prepares for me because my mother raised me right, but the staple parts of my diet are like, onions, carrots, celery, bell peppers, tomatoes, chicken, and beef. Sometimes potatoes, corn, rice, or beans. for specific applications, and eggs ofc. It's all about what's cheap tbh.
@pwm @theorytoe @waifu @prettygood Makes sense. That list is not much different from my own. Only we go for pork over here because of how cheap it is. Around 2 usd per pound. And lentils, chickpeas, and peas besides beans.
