watched a youtube about why streaming videos suck so much, really interesting. basically the entire construction of the movie is based around super fine-grained streaming metrics. and those metrics say "make ocean's eleven, over and over and over again, and make sure something happens every 30 seconds or people will close the tab"

@miscbrains @sun I wonder to what degree this is actually true and to what degree streaming services think this is true. Studio execs were infamous for thinking audiences were stupid even before streaming became a thing. It's kind of hard to prove since they usually won't tell you how their productions perform but I've heard about instances where they did show some stats and apparently the most popular thing on Netflix are movies from the 90s.
