@HockeyDoxie I poasted my caturday update at an ungodly hour after a bad dream this morning. Little dude is exploring the house rn.

@pwm @HockeyDoxie @adequate but good luck on your search befriending strays is always best-- remember, if you go in for a pet, come from below not above, and if they get skittish just stay still until they calm down, then slowly withdraw

@bajax @HockeyDoxie @adequate I'm not going to get one until Sigma passes. I don't think I want to risk her not getting along with a little bro/sis
@pwm @HockeyDoxie @adequate if you ever run across a stray kitten, that's the best time to introduce them to an adult. I think there's something in a cat's makeup, in all mammals really, to give a kid a chance even in circumstances that you'd normally eschew any type of companionship. the kitten is not as intent on asserting itself in the territory, they'll take whatever is offered-- also kittens are fun.
I was worried Ajax, as an unneutered tomcat, was gonna kill Comet and his siblings, and him being obsessed with them, staring at them under the gap in the door worried me. but one day I found that the kittens escaped (through the damned AC vents!!) and I went into freakout mode, desperately trying to account for them all-- I was sure I'd find at least one seriously injured-- only to find him curled up on the sofa with two of them, licking Comet's head.
