You need a gooseneck kettle, not a regular tea kettle. These help you control your pour with precision and keep your water at optimal temperature right up to the instant it hits the grounds. I think Target sells a Bodum electric kettle for like 20 bucks or something.

And yeah, pourover IS the tits.

I'm fine with Moka pot or French Press.
