Two years ago my wife refused to invite her grandma to our wedding. She hadn't seen her in almost 20 years and apparently she was a mean old bat. At the time I told her that she would regret it when her grandma died but she scoffed at me.

Her grandma died last night.

@triodug our condolences to both of you. The things we do to save face, like invite family members we don’t like to our weddings, can save grief in the end. Sadly we won’t know how much without trying.

@awl I've had to deal with a lot of deaths in the family so I knew how hard the regret could hit. I tried my best to give her a chance at some closure. Wish I tried harder tbh.
