It's where the money is at. That is all, that's what drives JS and especially JS frameworks. Nothing more, nothing less. You aren't impressing many with RoR because it scales worse than PHP and if you say "Elixir", some PM will think you are offering them some magic drink that will solve his relationship troubles.

As someone who works professionaly with RoR, I can understand why people likes it that much. It's very easy and quick for you to develop and integrate on it, while it's not as scalable as Java, Go, Elixir and more, it's way quicker to code than other frameworks as digests most things for you
