Everyone hates health insurance companies. And health insurance companies are terrible. The hospitals are terrible too though. Many insurance company practices have come about due to repeated abuses by hospitals.

@Rocket The hospitals suck and are predatory because the law forces them to treat everyone, including those that can't or won't pay (blacks, browns, hobos).

@Mark it's part of the problem for sure. The hospitals are making plenty of money though. Many of them are "nonprofit charities" that are exempt from corporate (and often property) taxes. Yet they do little to no charity care. They sit on huge amounts of money in their trusts. Hospital executives make huge amounts of money. Billing rates rise, physician pay rates remain flat.
