The biggest issue is there is literally no economic incentive for giving accurate information. What the fuck are you supposed to do about that

@RustyCrab despite my misgivings with journalists influencers are far worse. Journalists have at least corporate structures and decades of court precedent to somewhat mitigate issues. Grifter accounts are entirely economically dependent on access to sources before journalists to beat them.
The whole freaking of legacy media vs online media was just pure slopulism. Something like the Tim pool Russian payment scandal or the Democrat dark money influencer thing is so much worse then most journalist controversies.
This narrowly applies to politics btw in the new media and tech worlds it’s all just access journalism slop.

@KaiserKitty this latest thing is everyone dick sucking photocraft without even trying it. The obvious incentive is trying to generate clicks.
@RustyCrab @KaiserKitty we recreated poop.net with AI in rust (it crashes more than copland did in the 90s)
@sendpaws @KaiserKitty rust has been pretty great to be honest it's like 95% of the speed of C as opposed to 10% with other languages for the same benefits. It's wild having all your programs start up instantly it feels like being back in the 90s
@RustyCrab @sendpaws rust is good it’s just script kiddies think memory safe = magic bullet for good code and memory management.
@RustyCrab tech journalism is just reading press releases. It’s like the guys who make reviews of new tech where they just read and show off all the new iPhone or android features. Or just “review a Linux distribution” by installing it and running Firefox and one steam game.
