@vaartis (de)compressing audio on the fly is quite expensive (atleast on the scale used). the virtual instruments that use them already use a truckload of CPU while playing 4+gb worth of wav audio samples constantly at the same time, decompressing that on the fly would be extremely costly for the CPU (that is already taxed to hell and beyond))
