In not so secret news, I'm working on a #fediverse #search #index service that pulls in posts from all known #instances of #content that is public across thousands of servers. I'll let you know when it goes live.

10@feld BlueSky is one such platform where this kind of behavior still goes on, and it's disappointing to see. People in videos spend more time worried about what someone will do in the comments, and what someone will report them for on platforms, than they do just making wholesome content. And I want to be someone who brings that experience back, without all the extra conditionalities we've become accustomed to over time.
@sun @feld @georgia Probably because they didn't want a one way feed of someone's posts to not be able to be private if the user and or instance didn't allow for that. And I do want to respect their settings which is why I won't be creating a timeline like a fire hose. But rather, something to do with search APIs that respect privacy.
@sun @feld @georgia @ZRDR_DelRio To be devil's advocate, search data on my test server takes up 2TB of federated content and growing.
