it's marketed that way, and it makes sense how someone would pick up the habit, and every once-in-a-while I catch myself using that sort of phrasing, but I don't think it's good to conceptualize it that way

@binkle I'm learning about how these things work to avoid this manner of thinking. They are very convincing but after the veil is pulled back it explains a lot of their weird behavior

@RustyCrab I've recommended picrel on here before because it does a similar thing for "the computer thinks X" or "the computer doesn't like Y" or "the computer decided to do Z". I wish I knew an AI book that did a similar thing in a similarly accessible way (common english, picture diagrams, building things up gradually, etc)
