Who really benefits from all the infighting in free/open source software regarding any use of LLMs in development?

With all the recent and non-recent "discussions" and mostly just nonsensical noise around random large and small projects using some sort of an LLM for any purpose and how "bad" this is, I've decided to write my thoughts in a small-ish post while the thoughts are still fresh.

I think your proposed solution doesn't scale. Small projects could treat all contributions the same, but popular projects will be overwhelmed by slop.

Making LLMs socially unacceptable is a rational solution, and might even be the only real solution because it works at scale.
