@Tfmonkey they can't get it through their heads that the money was stolen. It's gone. Anyone who suggested even the tamest reform was shouted down with shrieks of "he wants to take away your social security." It can't be saved now. Even if they raise the cap, it goes bust again in twenty years, just as the first millennials are retiring.
@Ree @sun @Tfmonkey very few ppl starting with late genx are going to be able to retire. I know I'm not. The math is just not going to work out. I've been putting money in a 401k since my early 20s and it's just never going to be enough money to retire. Social security is going to be completely busted by the time I'm 67, if that is even still the retirement age by then.
