The days of a straight white man being able to make it through the democratic primary process seem to be over, even if he would be better for the party’s chances of winning the general. the dems might need to get serious about making their primaries less democratic if they want more Democratic victories.

If "The Establishment" controls both candidates completely, then they have no reason to care which one wins. Moreover, nobody making this claim is also claiming that U.S. elections are so secure that a conspiracy as powerful as you describe couldn't just print a few million fake ballots. It's just gibberish that falls apart if you actually read it. Sometimes bad people can just be incompetent.
